About Darboy
Darboy is a census-designated community in the Town of Harrison in western Calumet County — the Fox Cities’ east-side growth frontier. With a population of roughly 4,800 and climbing, Darboy has expanded steadily over the past two decades as Fox Valley families looked east of Appleton and Kaukauna for newer housing, larger lots, and strong schools. The community sits at the intersection of Highway 441, Highway 55, and County Road N, which puts Fox Crossing, Appleton, and the rest of the Fox Cities within a quick commute.
Unlike the older paper-mill towns along the Fox River, Darboy’s identity is residential and new. Subdivisions built in the 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s make up most of the housing stock, with families drawn by the Kaukauna Area School District and Kimberly Area School District boundaries that overlap the community. Commercial activity is concentrated along Highway 55 and County Road N — grocery, restaurants, gas, home improvement, and a growing cluster of service businesses catering to the community’s rapidly expanding household base.
The Town of Harrison incorporated portions to the south as the Village of Harrison in 2013, and boundary lines between Darboy, Harrison, Sherwood, and surrounding Calumet County communities remain a familiar local topic.
